I purchased this for my child who is a Pokemon fan. This is the story of a man's life, and, as such, it is a messy affair with strands that meander and seeming dead ends everywhere. Even when the author would talk about something interesting, he would cut off, nearly mid-sentence, and basically say that he can't tell you about that. The same unexplained tech terms over and over, until I just closed the manual. A great read. The author is a CCIE and the reviewers include William Parkhurst, Ph.D., author of some of the most technical books on Cisco. Great for sight reading. It is superior to the competing English summary of Bonhoeffer's life by Eric Metaxas which contains no new information. I buy it every year. Yet, his main objective is to motivate all participants in the "globalization game" to learn important lessons from the past. You would therefore save hundreds of dollars by purchasing the 14th or even 13th edition used. My 5 year old was hooked on this book from the start and it has encouraged him to go out and search for his own amphibians. Minor characters provide comic relief. so this is NOT merely a history survey (as most books do). This book is no different.The photos of frogs are beautiful. Other 1 & 2 star reviews cover additional issues with the stories. I'd love to meet her.
