I've used Photoshop for several years in all of it's various forms. What I enjoy about Margaret's work is that her art is easy to color, leaves alot to the imagination and gives the colorist all the creativity with no preconceived notions. Read, consider his line of reasoning, and absorb the larger messages in the books. He is at this point quite the globe-trotter, and just shy of smug. These authors do just that in this book that is simultaneously comprehensive and lighthearted.As a piano teacher and performer, I have asked my self the questions: what is the difference between noise and music? how is it that some collections of sound express our deepest emotions better and more viscerally than words? how much of our experience of sound is culturally shaped? This book offers neither straightforward nor overly philosophical answers to these questions, but gives a thorough overview of physical and objective phenomena that underlie our subjective experience of sound.
