I've been reading herbalist books for over 30 years, and this book just didn't ring true to me. The entire book obviously comes from real world experience. She gives us examples from her own life. What is surprising is how simplistic and formulaic her advice is, how she repeats it over and over and how the more she says it the more removed it feels. Even when Basso is offstage, this is unequivocally his story, and that is reflected in every aspect of the book down to its diction. These are wonderful books. I think this was a wonderful book by Bell Hooks- it showcases a boy, being a boy, doing what boys do. I was disappointed. Each set of pages contains a couple-hundred words. Excellent book. They always did that. We have never learned from our past and I wonder if we ever will. I'm amazed at how Dirk can speak to a specialist and to the general publThis warm story delivers an important message in a playful manner, making it ideal for early learners. The adorable illustrations and easy-to-read text will make it a favorite for children to read aloud with adults or as a practice book for independent readers..
