I'm a technical editor myself, so my "edit daemons" are always running in the background and pointing out problems while I read anything. The characters are lively and engaging, the story solid. I think this was a wonderful book by Bell Hooks- it showcases a boy, being a boy, doing what boys do. It is one of those books to keep at the bedside and read and contemplate daily. This was recommended to me by my pastor and friend. And while she gets preachy she shows that she does not understand everything about the economy that she is critiquing.The book though did open my eyes to another way of life and that maybe I should shop at more local places even though it is limited in my smaller town. In bringing alive the achievements of the wealth creators, in citing their successes and quoting their own philosophies, he lets the creators speak to and inspire us. Okay, that just reinforces the wackiness. What would you do, as a CIA lawyer, in a post-9/11 environment, if your operatives came to you and said, "We need these methods to get vital information." But beyond the War on Terror chapters, this is really a history of the CIA over the past 30 years. I thought there might be some more esoteric information here, given the authors credentials.
