I had had my digital camera for 6 months or so, and was getting frustrated with it. I think this was a wonderful book by Bell Hooks- it showcases a boy, being a boy, doing what boys do. John Rizzo's book, "Company Man", is much like the author himself: smart, insightful, wry, self-deprecating, funny, and charming. I am only half way through it. He loves the pictures and history, and the fact that it ends with his Jeep model! I felt that the book did not warrant the steep price. Although some of it is outdated now, not many people use the 4x4 basswood sections. With his background in chemistry, he has been able to produce non toxic, organic sprays that are beginning to revolutionize the cotton industry in Egypt and elsewhere, so that the cotton we buy especially for our children is safe to wear. It is packed with information and is relatively easy to understand if you already have a background in logic. The book is very cleverly written with just the right mix of hard science and fascinating and delightfully enjoyable reading. This sweet historical, romance story will touch and inspire readers with its delightful characters and charming story. This book does an amazing job of telling the story that is Iowa with amazing pictures and an insightfull bit of writing as well. Maybe it's the A&M connection, maybe farming, Texas, or the stories.
